On “My Car Story” we’re at the American Motors Owners Association International Convention in Rockford IL on 7-30-16.

We’re looking at a 1983 American Motors Corporation AMC Eagle Sport SX4 4×4 Car in Black Paint with a 6 cylinder 258 CI engine.

The car’s Owner is Jim Sonnenfeld. Jim’s had the car since 2003. The cars is all Original, highly optioned, has less than 35,000 miles, and is a 4×4.

Jim shares he likes Muscle Cars too, but my car can go where they can’t (he can drive his off road).

  1. Looks a lot like this 1986 Chevy Z24 hatchback I had..I kinda liked that car but those 2.8L V-6 would throw a rod through the engine block no matter how well you took care of it….I dropped a new engine in and a short time later, the manual transmission started going bad, before it should of…It's basically impossible to get 200,000 miles out of the engine and Trans no matter how well you took care of it.

  2. This car is bad ass. I know doing anything to the car would fuck up the value, but I would love to see this car tricked out like the guys with the jeeps do theirs.

  3. We had one of these briefly growing up. Not the sport model. My sister got in a very bad accident head on and, if it wasn't built like a tank I don't think she would be here today. Great car
