OFF ROAD DRIVING TUTORIALS

Drive A Defender | The List #0166

If you had a choice between driving a car that was banned from the United States, or tackling an off-road course on the grounds of an actual British castle, which would you choose? Luckily, on this episode of The List, our hosts don’t have to make that decision as they buckle into a Land Rover Defender to take on the off-road challenges of The Land Rover Experience located at Eastnor Castle in England. Jessi Combs and Patrick McIntyre learn what all the hype is about concerning the banned beauty of an SUV, and even get to compare it to a new Range Rover SVR, first hand.

  1. Fucking US Customs! You re as bad as Isis destroying Palmyra! Air bags for fuck s sake? Air bags are blowing up in people s faces and killing them! Idiots!!!

  2. What kind of dick-head would crush/scrap a Defender when they fetch so much money? American muscle-cars from the 70's and 80's are death-traps in the wrong hands yet still legal! Only in America

  3. I live in South Africa, my 1998 Defender 90 TDI has done 210 000 Km's through 8 African countries, Namibia, Botswana, Zambia, Zimbabwe, Malawi, Lesotho, Swaziland, Mozambique and many local hardcore trips – never let me down. I would not take on African roads in any other vehicle, as they just don't have the toughness to do long range hard trips. Sure, there are many off-road vehicles that will perform better on a 4×4 course, but to load 4 weeks supplies and do 20 000 Km's on the worst African roads and tracks imaginable, there is only one real "Safari" vehicle. I Recently bought a 2010 Defender 90 Puma limited edition "Ice" – My TDI lasted 19 years, so the Ice should be OK until 2027 or so….

  4. I'm a huge Jeep fan, but I'm an even bigger off-road fan. I just love 4x4s of all makes and models it doesn't really matter to me as long as you can have fun in it. I'm torn to hear that they don't produce the defender anymore. You can still find it on the AU land rover page, so i assumed it was still in production. Truly an Iconic vehicle I really hope to own one one day.

  5. "Ask any 4 year old to draw a Land Rover and you'll see a Defender"…..hahahahahahahaha….. So true a statement. I drive a Series 3 109, a pre Defender. Lovely trucks they are. Cheers.
