1972 Modified Old School Classic Ford Bronco ‘Limerock Green’ by Rocky Roads, LLC

This 1972 Rust-Free Old School California Ford Bronco just got a body off / frame-off restoration. The customer (who ordered it while living in Texas) chose a Limerock Green GM color that looks fantastic! We restored this Bronco to a very high level, mixing some modern amenities with old school styling with a Legend Almond Spice colored interior & family 6 point roll cage. We match painted the body to the engine bay & powder coated the chassis, plus we undercoated the entire under carriage add maximum rust-prevention.

We installed a L&R engines 5.8 liter Crate 351 Windsor engine with 400 HP and 400 lbs of torque, which kicks out some serious torque & Horsepower. We added a set of March billet aluminum pulleys, a new serpentine belt system, plus polished power steering, alternator & a/c pumps. It has fuel injection, MSD ignition & distributer. Everything around the engine is new. All brackets and timing cover have already been powder coated. It has new Ford Racing valve covers, a modified Ron Davis performance aluminum radiator, completely new cooling system with dual electric fans, new 23 gallon F.I. fuel system, plus a new Flowmaster dual exhaust system that sounds fantastic & is correctly routed out behind the rear tires.

We installed a 4R70W four-speed automatic transmission (possibly the best transmission option for all around city & highway driving) with a new Atlas 2 transfer case, plus 2 rebuild drive shafts, with 3.50 highway gearing. The Dana 44 & the Ford 9″ rear axles have both been rebuilt & repainted. Combined with a new Hydro-boost power brake system, this Bronco stops and steers great!

It has a rebuilt factory Saginaw 3.2 turn factory power steering system & a new black tilt steering column with a Le Carra steering wheel, plus a new stainless steering shaft. It has a new front disc brake system & rebuilt drum brakes in back. The former electrical system has been replaced with a new Centek body harness & a new Painless fuel injection harness, plus a custom restored Bronco speedometer with the miles re-set back to zero.

It has brand new 2.5″ suspension with new Bilstein shocks, plus a 1″ body lift. The radius arm bushings & 7 degree C bushings are new, same with the steering tie rods, drag link & adjustable track bar. It has 305/65R17 BFG All Terrain tires on 17×9″ Fuel Hostage black powder coated wheels.

It has a new Legend front bumper, powder coated black, with push bar & Warn aluminum fair lead (the owner is installing his own winch) with a Rock Solid rear bumper, powder coated black, with a swing out tire carrier & a matching spare. It also has new heavy duty side step-up bars that are also powder coated black.

We installed new FORD lettering on the grill, new amber running lenses, billet aluminum head lamp rings, tail light bezels & side marker light bezels, plus all new LED head lights. It has restored black pleated vinyl Almond Spice Legend Bronco seats in front & back with matching pleated vinyl door panels, rear side panels & tailgate paneling, a new Legend 6 point family roll cage with all new grade 8 hardware, black padding & wrapping & windshield frame braces to help prevent rattles, plus a set of custom fitted snap-in floor mats and a Tuffy locking center console & locking glove box, both match-keyed.

We installed a new Legend dash with Dakota Digital climate control, 3 aluminum A/C vents in-dash & a Tuffy locking glove box. We match painted the engine bay, chassis & undercoated the entire under carriage. We installed all new match painted fender flares, new lower door seals, new windshield & seal, plus a new black Polyurea (Linex) interior bed liner. We installed a new black Rampage soft top, new window felts & channels, new door inner & outer handles, a restored speedometer.

The owner asked for an Alpine sound system with 6.5″ component speakers in the rear side panels & Alpine 5.25″ component speakers also flush mounted into the rear side panels, plus a Rocky Roads 12″ woofer box under the rear seat with the 1000 W JL Audio amplifier with another Alpine 100×4 PDX-4 amp running the component speakers. This is one Classic Bronco that will be enjoyed for many years to come!
