………………………………….………………………………….…………………………….

Ron Erickson is in the process of making a 1987 Volkswagen GTI shell into an AWD Rally Car. He is transplanting the drive train from a Canadian Passat G60 Syncro into the GTI.

Ron is not sending it out for any part of the build process. Engine, Transmission, Suspension, Roll Cage, Electronics, Wiring, Body Work, Paint; Ron is doing it all himself, with the help from a few friends now and then.

It has been 2 years since he has started this journey, and we are going to follow along for the rest of it.

  1. Hello, i just discovered your youtube channel and watched all about thru (nice project by the way), and i'm wondering are you going to use 6 speed transmission and stock rear syncro diff? Because they not gonna work together. The rear drive shaft spining ratio from syncro and 4motion is diferent. I am not sure but syncro is like 16:1 and 4motion 27:1 or so.
