Black Mountain Truck Trail – Ramona, CA

In this video I brought along one of my best friends, my dog rocket, to explore the Black Mountain Truck Trail located Ramona, CA. This trail is easy to find and I would rate it as and easy trail. It has spectacular views all around and would be a great trail to revisit in the spring when things are green and in bloom.

  1. Congratulations and thank you for your huge commitment and service to our country. Good luck in your upcoming retirement! Of course, now we expect more of these great videos! 🙂

  2. Great video! Do you think I'd have any issues with this trail in my 2017 Tacoma TRD Offroad (4×2)? Link to build page below….It has rear dif locker, so I think it'd be okay but I want to start getting my fiancé out on the trails with me and if she has a bad experience on the first time, going to be hard to convince her to do it again …which means it'll be harder and harder for me to get out there! 🙂

  3. Great video! Thanks for sharing. I just went up there today with my dad and I feel very lucky because the gate where you stopped was open, so we were able to go all the way to the peak. We talked with a ranger at the bottom and he said it's supposed to be closed. If you ever go out there and see it open definitely go to the top, you get to sit under the pine trees and see 360 degree views.

  4. First and foremost, thank you for your service! I have couple of questions. Would you say this trail is suitable for someone that have never been off road with stock 4Runner 4×4? Also, is this trail wide enough for two way traffick? Sorry for stupid questions but really want to start learning the ropes. Thanks

  5. I'd like to personally thank you for your service, and I love your videos. My best friend and I like to off-road ourselves, she owns a 2007 jeep wrangler and I own a 1990 Chevy Silverado 1500 4×4. Soon we will start up our own channel of adventures just like yours, so again we thank you and please continue with your videos!

  6. Congratulations on retiring from the service and a huge thank you! In regards to the trail, I have read that it’s an easy trail. Is it possible that a 2 Wheel Dr. truck could make it up or would you say four-wheel-drive with special clearance in the form of a lift is necessary?
